Bree Braun
Hi, I'm Bree! I live in New Orleans with my husband, Philip, and I love to make delicious messes in the kitchen or go for walks when I'm not coaching or spiritual directing. Having been raised in cajun country, I don’t know how to cook for one, and as the oldest sister of 7 children, accompaniment is kind of in my bones.
My intrigue with the “interior life” was cultivated shortly after my father’s passing when I was 13 years old. My grief opened the door to raw longing and allowed God’s love to completely draw me in. Knowing God can be closest when He feels most distant, I feel called to help individuals grow their ability to hear God’s voice and cultivate a rich interior life that will not only nourish them but allow them to nourish those around them.
Too many of us carry around this invisible sack of shame that sounds like some version of “I need to prove myself before I can be loved,” or “If I were more ___ then God would give me ____.” Feeling peaceful, purposeful, and confident seems to hinge on our vocational status. And our longing to be loved and embraced in relationship can feel as crushing as the lie that we’re not worthy of it!
I help young adults reclaim authority over their minds, dismantle the lies they’re believing about themselves and about love, and experience greater peace and confidence in their life and relationships. After spending 2 years in a Carmelite monastery, I stumbled my way through a decade of broken relationships before marrying at 30. While my husband is a great gift, he was not the victory. My sense of peace and confidence flowing from a discerning mind was. Single or married, I know the freedom that’s possible for you on the other side of this inner work. I have journeyed now with hundreds of men and women experiencing the same.
Aside from 1:1 coaching and direction, I also provide coaching and professional development training for Loyola University New Orleans Catholic Studies Center, direct silent retreats, serve as spiritual director for Christ Medicus healthcare professionals, facilitate relationship workshops for Catholic singles & couples, and serve on the Board for YCP New Orleans and Toastmasters Club 234.
